1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Paritok (“Paritok”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, signing in, or sending requests with a Paritok API key, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use Paritok for an organization, you confirm you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf, and “you” includes that organization.
2. The Service and open source
The “Service” is the website at paritok.com, the account dashboard, and the hosted compression API (the “Hosted API”), which compresses content your Paritok gateway sends to it on our GPU infrastructure.
The Paritok gateway and the Paritok-4B model are open source under the Apache License 2.0. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under that license. If you self-host the gateway and model, your content stays on your own infrastructure and these Terms apply only to any parts of the Service you still use (for example, the website).
3. Accounts and API keys
- You sign in with Google or Microsoft. Keep the account you sign in with secure; you are responsible for activity under your Paritok account.
- API keys are shown once when created. Keep them secret. All usage made with your keys is attributed and billed to your account until you revoke the key in the dashboard. Revoke a key immediately if you believe it has been exposed.
- We may revoke keys or limit requests to protect the Service. The Hosted API is currently limited to 100 requests per minute per key.
4. Pricing and prepaid credit
Free period
The Hosted API is free of charge until October 1, 2026 at 00:00 UTC. Usage before that time is never charged.
Price and prepaid credit
From October 1, 2026, Hosted API usage costs $0.30 (USD) per 1,000,000 Billable Tokens, paid from a prepaid credit balance in your account. There is no subscription and no monthly fee: each request’s charge is deducted from your balance as you use the Hosted API.
- Welcome credit. New accounts receive a one-time $5.00 credit when they sign up. One welcome credit per person or organization; we may withhold or remove credit obtained through multiple or fake accounts.
- Top-ups. You add credit in the dashboard, from $5.00 to $1,000 per purchase. Credit is added once the payment is confirmed.
- Activation codes. We may offer activation codes (for example, for an event). Redeeming one in the dashboard lets your account use the Hosted API without deducting credit until the time stated with the code; the code can’t be redeemed after that time either. Codes have no cash value, can’t be exchanged or transferred, and we may end or revoke them if they are abused.
- Running out. When your balance reaches zero, hosted compression pauses: requests pass through uncompressed (your agent keeps working) until you add credit. A request that starts while your balance is positive is completed even if it takes the balance slightly below zero; that amount is taken from your next top-up.
- No expiry. Credit doesn’t expire; it stays in your account until you use it or your account is deleted.
- No refunds or cash value. Credit is non-refundable, non-transferable and has no cash value, except where the law requires otherwise or to correct a billing error.
What counts as a Billable Token
Billable Tokens are the tokens of File Content you submit to the Hosted API that we compress. For each such request, the billable amount is the full size of the File Content you submitted.
- File Content means source files and other file reads your gateway sends for compression. A request is File Content if it is submitted as a file read, or if its content is in the line-numbered file-read format coding agents produce.
- Counting. Tokens are counted with the open-source
o200k_baseencoding (OpenAI’s tiktoken), regardless of the model your agent uses. The same content always counts the same.
What is never charged
- Tool-schema filtering. It runs locally in your gateway; if you use an API key, the gateway reports token counts only, for your dashboard.
- Command output, logs, tool results and other content that is not File Content.
- Requests returned uncompressed, including when the GPU service is unavailable or a request is passed through for any other reason.
- Compressions that reduce the File Content by less than 5%.
Checking your usage
You can reproduce the count for any file you sent:
import tiktoken
enc = tiktoken.get_encoding("o200k_base")
billable = len(enc.encode(file_content))The dashboard shows your balance, your billable tokens and charges for the current month, and your recent top-ups. Every hosted request has a request ID you can quote to us.
Payment
- Top-ups are one-time payments processed by Stripe. We don’t store your card details, and we never charge you automatically: credit is only added when you choose to buy it.
- Prices exclude taxes. You are responsible for any applicable taxes, which may be added at checkout.
- If a payment is reversed or charged back, we may deduct the related credit and suspend hosted compression until it is resolved.
Price changes, errors and disputes
- We will give at least 30 days’ notice by email or in the dashboard before increasing prices or changing what counts as a Billable Token. Changes apply only to usage after they take effect; credit you already bought keeps its dollar value.
- If you think a charge is wrong, contact us within 60 days. We will correct billing errors by restoring the credit.
Metering integrity
You must not misrepresent request metadata (such as the content kind or model), split, disguise or re-encode content, or otherwise try to avoid or reduce metering or charges.
5. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service to:
- break the law, or process content you don’t have the right to process;
- send malware or content designed to attack or exploit systems;
- interfere with, overload, or probe the Service, or get around rate limits, authentication or other security measures;
- access the Hosted API with keys that aren’t yours, or share keys to let others avoid paying for their own use;
- resell or offer the Hosted API to others as a service without our written permission.
6. Your content
“Your Content” is what your gateway submits to the Hosted API and the compressed results we return. You keep all rights in Your Content.
You grant Paritok a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, copy, process and store Your Content as needed to provide, secure, meter and support the Service. We keep Your Content for 90 days for security, abuse prevention and debugging, then delete it.
We do not use Your Content to train or improve our models unless you turn on “Help improve Paritok” in your dashboard. While it is on, you also license us to use Your Content submitted during that time to evaluate and train our compression models, and we may keep it for that purpose beyond 90 days. You can turn it off at any time; that content then returns to the 90-day deletion schedule, but models already trained with it are not changed. See our Privacy Policy.
You confirm you have the rights needed to submit Your Content. Coding agents can read any file in your project; if your repositories contain secrets or personal data you don’t want processed by a third party, exclude those files from your agent or use the self-hosted gateway.
7. How compression behaves
- Compression shortens what your agent’s model sees. Compressed content can omit or summarize parts of the original. The gateway lets the model retrieve the original when it needs it, but we don’t guarantee any compression ratio, that nothing relevant is omitted, or that your model’s behavior is unchanged.
- The Hosted API may be unavailable at times. When it is, the gateway passes content through uncompressed and nothing is billed.
- We may change, add or remove features. If we make a change that materially reduces the paid Service, we will give reasonable notice.
8. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Service at any time: revoke your keys and contact us to delete your account. Remaining credit is forfeited when an account is deleted and is not refunded. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, abuse the welcome credit, reverse a payment, create risk for the Service or other users, or if the law requires. If we terminate your access without cause, we will refund your unused purchased credit. Sections that by their nature should survive (including amounts owed, Your Content license for past processing, disclaimers, limitation of liability and indemnity) survive termination.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You are responsible for reviewing your agents’ output and for decisions made with it.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Paritok will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) US$100. Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
11. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Paritok against third-party claims arising from Your Content or your breach of these Terms, and pay resulting damages and reasonable costs, except to the extent a claim is caused by our own breach.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here with a new “Last updated” date, and give notice by email or in the dashboard for material changes. Pricing changes follow the 30-day notice in Section 4. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
13. General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Paritok about the Service. If any part is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
